Frame help
Everything you need to set up and use your PhotoDeo frame. If you are stuck on something specific, it is probably below.
Common problems
The frame will not connect to Wi-Fi
- Check the Wi-Fi is working on another device, like a phone.
- Check the password carefully. Capital and lowercase letters matter. The password is often printed on a sticker on the router.
- Move the frame closer to the router if the signal is weak.
I do not know which account to sign in with
Use the same account — Google, Facebook or Apple — that you use for PhotoDeo. If someone is sending you photos, ask them which one they used. If you are not sure, try Google first; it is the most common.
It is asking for a password I do not remember
Use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen for Google, Facebook or Apple. That resets it with them, not with PhotoDeo, so you may want someone to help. Your phone may still be signed in to the same account, which can help you work out which one it is.
The frame is not showing any photos
Your frame shows photos that family and friends have shared with you.
- Ask them to share photos with you from the PhotoDeo website or app.
- Open Settings and tap Manage Content Sources to check the right people are selected.
Waving my hand does not work
- Open Settings, check Hand Navigation is selected, and tap Recalibrate Hand Navigation.
- Calibrate while sitting where you normally sit.
- Make sure the room is bright enough for the camera to see your hand.
- If it still does not suit you, choose Auto Timer in Settings. Then the frame changes photos on its own and you never have to do anything.
The photo is frozen or stuck
Press and hold the screen for one second to open Settings, then tap Back. That refreshes the display.
How do I restart the frame?
Unplug the power cable, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.
I moved, or my Wi-Fi changed
Unplug the frame and plug it back in. When it cannot find the old network it shows the Wi-Fi screen again, and you can pick the new one.
Setting up a new frame
It takes a few minutes. It helps to have someone with you, because the Wi-Fi password has to be typed in.
- 1
Plug it in
Connect the power cable to the back of the frame and to a wall outlet. It turns on by itself and shows the PhotoDeo logo.
- 2
Join your Wi-Fi
Tap Open Wi-Fi Settings, choose your home network, and type the Wi-Fi password. Then go back to PhotoDeo. This has to be done in the room where the frame will live.
- 3
Sign in
Tap Google, Facebook or Apple — whichever account you use for PhotoDeo — and sign in. Your photos start loading straight after.
- 4
Set up hand waving (optional)
Hold your hand still for two seconds, then reach up and to the right and hold again. You can skip this, and you can change it later in Settings.
Using your frame
| Play the video | Raise your hand and hold it over the middle button, or tap the screen |
|---|---|
| Next photo | Hold your hand over the right button, or swipe left |
| Previous photo | Hold your hand over the left button, or swipe right |
| Open Settings | Press and hold the screen for one second |
| Leave Settings | Tap the back arrow at the top left |
| Restart | Unplug it, wait a few seconds, plug it back in |
If you would rather not do anything at all, open Settings and choose Auto Timer. The frame then changes photos and plays videos on its own.
Still stuck?
Email support@photodeo.com and tell us what you see on the screen. A photograph of the frame taken with a phone helps a great deal.
